According to Greek Legend...
 
An ouroboros, or a circular being that eats itself, is the first living being in the universe. It is a mythologically constructed, immortal animal.
 
According to Plato, the the hypothetical dragon Ouroboros did not need eyes, because there is nothing else to see outside of himself. It had no ears either, because there is nothing to hear. It did not need to breath because there was no surrounding air at the beginning of the world.
 
The dragon Ouroboros needs neither hands, feet or any device for movement; the movement adapted to its spherical form was assigned to it. It is therefore the most suitable for the mind and the intellect.
 
And from then on, it has moved in the same way and in the same place, within its own limits turning in a circle.  Everything it has done or suffered, happens within itself and by itself.
